Update - 11/17/2015

Well life got away from me as usual. I haven't updated since we found out we were having a baby girl. Our rainbow baby was born August 12, 2015 at 8:33 a.m. via repeat c-section. She was 7 lbs 12 oz and 20 inches long. We named her Harper Lynn. This is our little beauty.

A little back story on what happened throughout my pregnancy. At our 20 weeks anatomy scan, we found out Harper had ventriculomegaly, which is enlarged ventricles in the brain with hold cerebrospinal fluid (brain and spinal fluid). I was referred to a Maternal Fetal Medicine DR (a high risk obestetrician). After a couple of months, she was cleared and we were told she was fine and that the condition had corrected itself. We went on about the pregnancy pretty normally, except for some high blood pressure issues. At 37 weeks my BP was getting higher and I started showing signs of preeclampsia so at 38 weeks they decided to do my c-section.
Harper was born with deformations with both ears. They were almost completely folded over. She pediatrician referred us to a Genetic's Counselor so performed genetic's blood testing and an ultrasound of her brain, kidney's, heart and pancreas. Almost everything came back clear except her brain scan. We found out when she was 1.5 months old that her ventriculomegaly did not correct itself like we were told. So far it seems to not be bothering her but it can lead to some development delays and if it ever worsens it could lead to hydrocephelus.
She is doing great though. She is 3 months old now. She is starting to roll over and has pretty good head control. We go back to the genetics counselor in a few months to get an MRI of her brain to get a better look at it and see if everything is okay.

This is miss Harper now :)

It's A...

March 16, 2015

So, 2 days ago we found out the sex of our  little rainbow. I am pleased to announce that we have been blessed with a GIRL! She will be our second girl. My daughter is so very happy. Her name will be Blakely Mae. We can't wait to introduce her to the world in August. 5 months and she'll be here (almost exactly 5 months as she will be here via repeat c-section around the 19th of August).

Here are a few of our pictures from the ultrasound. I hope you enjoy them

February 21, 2015

Update Post! It's been awhile since I posted. Here's a little update on what's happening. I'm just into the SECOND trimester! What a big relief. I have random times of bleeding but doctor isn't concerned. I have had horrible morning sickness so I'm hoping the next few weeks will be the last of that. We find out (hopefully) the gender in 3 weeks! I'm so excited. I can't wait. None of our family knows when we're finding out. It will be 2 days before St. Patrick's Day so I'm trying to come up with a cute St. Patrick's related gender announcement. We'll see what I come up with.

6 weeks today! Everything is still going good. I feel a sense of peace and I'm praying that means good things for this little baby. I celebrated the New Year with a cupcake & milk (living on the edge lol). Getting more excited about my ultrasound even though it's still 2 weeks away.

Today I Feel -
Peaceful

What's Happening with Baby This Week -
The nose, mouth, and ears are beginning to take shape
Baby right now has an oversize head and dark spots where the eyes and nostrils are starting to form
Arms and leg buds have formed and are protruding
Heart is beating about 100-160 times a minute & blood is beginning to circulate through the body
Baby is about a 1/4 inch long

Other High Points -
Purchased first 2 cloth diapers :)
Emotions have calmed and I feel more stable

This week baby is the size of a lentil

No baby bump yet but it'll be nice to see where I started once August gets here
