Facebook Announcement

December 26, 2014

Today I announced to the Facebook world that we are expecting baby #2. I was going to wait but my mother-in-law was too excited because my husbands brother and his girlfriend announced yesterday that they are also expecting #2. We're due just 10 days apart. I can't wait to see us progress in our pregnancies together. We're hoping that this time we both have boys since we both had girls first. During our first pregnancies we were a few months apart. My daughter was born in January and my niece was born in July. This time our babies will be practically twins. I can't wait to see Maci (my daughter) and Swayzee (their daughter) meet their new siblings.

Here is how I announced today at 5 weeks & 2 days pregnant -

Today I am 5 weeks pregnant. It is also Christmas Eve. My life is very hectic right now. I have to wrap all of Maci's presents tonight. She is so excited. I think she is currently more excited about her new presents than her baby brother or sister.

Today I Feel -
Excited (for Christmas)
Nervous (about my upcoming ultrasound)
Anxious

What's Happening With Baby This Week -

Baby is the size of a sesame seed
Baby looks more like a tadpole than a tiny human right now
Baby is now made up of three layers - the ectoderm, the mesoderm and the endoderm - which will later form all of his/her organs and tissues
The neural tube - which your baby's brain, spinal cord, nerves and backbone will sprout - is starting to develop in the top layer, called the ectoderm.
This layer will also give rise to his/her skin, hair, nails, mammary and sweat glands, and tooth enamel.
The heart and circulatory system start to form in the mesoderm.
This week his/her heart divides in to it's chambers and begins to beat and pump blood.

Other High Points -

2 HCG Levels Reported (55.9 & 107.9)
1 Progesterone level reported (10)
7 Prometrium Pills Taken
7 81MG Aspirin Taken
1 Coffee Drank
1 Name Decided On

Baby is the size of an sesame seed this week.

4 weeks & 6 days - Update

December 23, 2014

Today I am 4 weeks and 6 days. Just updating a little bit before my 5 week update tomorrow. My blood draw results came in. At 4 weeks exactly my HCG levels were 55.9 and my progesterone was 10. At 4 weeks and 2 days my HCG levels were 107.9, My doctor is pleased and thinks this pregnancy will progress nicely. Now we're just waiting on my official ultrasound date but it should be around January 7th when I'll be 7 weeks. After my ultrasound shows everything is fine (assuming it will be) we are planning a big social media announcement so our extended family and friends will know.

We'll be announcing with this sign along with a picture of our daughter in her big sister shirt. My dad thinks we may be having twins (our most recent miscarriage was with twin) so if that is the case then I'll have to reword this haha -

  • The amniotic sac and the amniotic fluid are both present now and will house the baby as it grows

Positive!

           December 15, 2014

Today I got very nice positive pregnancy test. We are officially pregnant with our rainbow baby. After loosing August and Paxton (twins miscarried in the first trimester) in late August/mid September we are so happy about this new addition to our family. I will start this blog to keep track of how I am feeling week by week. I wish I had done this with Maci now. Hindsight is always 20-20 huh?

Today is also my Pawpaw's birthday. He passed away 7 years ago from lung cancer. I feel like he has sent us our new baby. Praying that this one sticks with us.
